Thank you for your interest in Grateful Goldens Rescue. All our Goldens receive a veterinary examination and are up to date on vaccines. If needed, they are spayed and neutered and treated for heartworms. Other medical issues are also taken care of prior to any of our dogs becoming available for adoption. All medical records are provided when a dog is adopted.

In the Spirit of Transparency

Currently we have a limited number of Goldens and Golden mixes coming into rescue. The number of applicants far exceeds the number of dogs and our waiting list continues to grow. Although the order in which an application was received is taken into consideration, the primary focus is to properly match our dogs with a prospective family based on the dog's needs. At times we may stop the acceptance of adoption applications to work through our waiting list in fairness to those approved applicants that have been so patient. Please note that due to the large number of inquiries we receive regarding adopting one of our dogs, we must have an application before we can speak with you about an adoption.

How it Works

Once an adoption application and a $25 nonrefundable Adoption Application Fee is received, it will be reviewed. Please note that an adoption application will not be processed without a paid application fee. If the application is found to be complete, we will check vet records and personal references. If no issues are found, one of GGR's volunteers will contact you to make plans for a phone interview followed by a home visit. If satisfactory, you will be placed on our approved family waiting list. At the time a dog matching your requirements comes along, you will be contacted and a meet and greet between family and dog will be scheduled.
