Golden Volunteer Opportunities

Grateful Goldens could not help Golden Retrievers in need without volunteers.  We are always in need of people who are willing to donate a few hours of their time to help in the operation of our rescue.  If you have a passion for Gold and can help, we want to hear from you.  While our biggest need is for foster homes (click here to learn more about fostering) there are many other opportunities for you to get involved.  We guarantee the rewards of seeing a Golden get healthy, happy and a home far outweigh the effort.  Please complete the application below and email to info@ggrlc.org and we will get back to you right away.

Opportunities Available:

Transport "Taxi" Team

We are always in need for people who can transport a dog.  Transports may be from a shelter to a foster home, from a foster home to a vet appointment, etc.

Home Visits

Volunteers are needed to meet with potential families and do a home inspection.  A form is provided to capture the information.  An experienced volunteer in home visits will mentor you until you are comfortable with the process.

Foster Care: (click here)

Foster Buddy Team

Foster buddies are volunteers who help foster homes with various needs such as taking the dog to a vet appointment, helping with socialization so the foster home does not have to take time off from work.

Events and Fundraising

Grateful Goldens is looking for volunteers to lend a hand to organize our many community events.  These events serve to educate the public to what rescue is and to raise awareness of us.  We are always looking for new and fun ways to get out in the public and welcome your ideas.  Help with grant writing and identifying potential corporate sponsors is greatly needed.

Website, Social Media, and Blogging

We are always looking for volunteers with computer skills to assist with website maintenance, social media, and blogging. If you have these skills and are interested in sharing your expertise with us, we would love to hear from you.

New Volunteers

All individuals working directly with the dogs must watch the Maddie's Fund Canine Body Language video required by our insurance carrier at the link provided below:

This course provides valuable information to become more aware of canine behavior. Please confirm to GGR by clicking here when you have completed the course. Thank you for being a GGR volunteer!
