Duke
age 11+ arrived January 2024
Duke is a hero but when his owner was diagnosed with dementia, he was left homeless. It is unknown how long he was neglected but he was in sad shape. He suffered from intestinal worms, flea infestation, malnurishment, arthritis, ear infections, chronic dry eye, and partial blindness.
That is where a wonderful GGR foster family came to help -- they generously opened their hearts and home to him so he could to live out his life.
Duke saved a previous owner from a house fire, went back in and saved a canine sibling and on his third trip in, to save another canine sibling, he burned his hind legs. Firefighters found him laying on top of the other dog to protect it from the fire. The owner, two dogs, and Duke all survived! We throw around the term hero pretty loosely these days. Duke is an actual hero!
Thanks to the love and wonderful care his foster family provides, he is thriving and adored! What would make him really feel like a hero are some wonderful sponsors. Will you help him?
My Challenges ~ Partial blindness, chronic arthritis and dry eye and receiving medications for both.
