Pope
age 9 arrived March 2023
GGR was contacted by a shelter about a Golden who was in desperate need of a rescue to take him and we said, an immediate “Yes!”. This stray was found on the side of the road, was severely malnourished, could barely walk and that’s not all.
Seeing that first photo of Pope at the shelter was alarming but seeing him in person left us without words and in tears. We knew this dog needed urgent medical attention so we rushed him to a veterinary hospital.
After months of veterinary care Pope was improving and being prepared for surgery but suffered a stroke. He has recovered well but his health is considered too delicate to withstand any extensive surgery.
Pope is looking for some wonderful people to sponsor him in the Golden Guardians program. Will you be one?
My Challenges ~ Stuffered a stroke, has bilateral torn cruciate ligaments, meniscus tear in right knee, and severe chronic arthritis. Taking Gabapentin and Carprofen daily.
